R E I K I M A S T E R
My name is Clint Smith, and I became a certified, insured Reiki Practitioner in 2015.
The moniker Reiki Porter is my way of conveying the true, frills-free nature of Reiki– and the role I play in bringing it to others.
With every session, my only goal and only intention is to deliver Reiki to you in its purest form. How you receive and experience Reiki’s fortifying benefits is dependent on you. Reiki is not a spa treatment or something reserved for esoteric interests. Reiki is for everyone.
In addition to being a Reiki Master, I’ve enjoyed a long career in advertising and marketing as a project manager, graphic designer, photographer, and artist.
My first experience with Reiki was around 1997. A friend had become a practitioner and I was a willing practice subject. Even though I really did enjoy the treatments I was receiving, at the time it was… just too “woo-woo” for me. Very simply, I couldn’t get beyond the “new agey-ness” of it— the waving of hands and moving of energy. As a type-A pragmatist, my attitude was more aligned with tolerance than interest or engagement.
More than a decade later, I was receiving acupuncture for seasonal allergies when the practitioner asked if I’d be interested in receiving Reiki as part of my treatment. Honestly, it didn't even register with me as being the same thing I'd experienced years prior, so I welcomed the extra attention without giving it much thought. This time around, my reaction to Reiki was considerably different— with a new weight, and a new meaning.
Over time, and after working through a lot of suspicion and denial, I came to understand energy work better and the unwitting experience I’d had with it throughout my life. With the prolonged urging of a number of people familiar with such things, I took my first Reiki class. It was like finally opening a door that someone had been knocking on for years.
Now, as a Reiki practitioner, it’s my pleasure to introduce, inform, and impart Reiki to others.
